Save Share Apply now Ackerman Pierce is currently supporting a leading local authority within Sutton to recruit for a Team Manager - Leaving Care and Children Looked After within the Social Care Industry on a permanent basis paying £49,056-£57,402 P/Annum
Role Overview:
Reporting to the Service Manager or service specific Team Manager, Team Managers will be responsible for the leadership and management of the Service. Using their advanced knowledge and experience they will lead and model practice which meets statutory requirements and provides Early Help and prevention to reduce need and support independence using the relevant practice framework for the service. They will support the manager to develop and embed a culture of learning and improvement through supervision, mentoring, sharing of best practice knowledge, research and the competent application of legislative frameworks, including deputising in their absence.
Responsibilities include:
1. Working with the manager to identify and focus on looked after and care leavers cases that are high risk
2. Leading and managing a multidisciplinary team to deliver effective social care services for looked after children.
3. Ensuring that all interventions are child-centred, emphasising the best interests of the children and young people in our care.
4. Quality assurance of cases
5. Quality assurance of systems and processes
6. Good knowledge of current legislation
7. Auditing of cases
8. Ability to build multi-agency teams around the child
9. Delivery of ambitious but realistic plans for children
10. Child centred practices which include direct work and participation
11. Supervise a number of professional staff
Experience preferred:
12. Experience of working within as a Team Manager in a Looked After Children’s Team within the UK Social Care industry.
Minimum requirements:
13. 3 years’ post qualifying experience in a similar role within the UK
14. Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
15. Eligibility to work in the UK
16. DipSW/CQSW equivalent
17. SWE Registered
18. Evidence of continuing professional development
19. Have experience of working in a multidisciplinary team setting.
20. Ability to plan and coordinate social care plans and aspects of patient discharge.
