Overview
Are you a Pharmacy Technician with aseptic experience, newly registered, soon to register, GPhC‑registered Technician looking to progress in an acute hospital? If so, this could be your next step. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Aseptic Services Unit at the Royal United Hospitals Bath and take an active role in the day‑to‑day organisation of our Aseptic Services, including Chemotherapy and Radiopharmacy. You’ll work closely with pharmacists, chemotherapy nurses, and the nuclear medicine team to schedule daily workloads and support the safe preparation of chemotherapy, monoclonal antibodies, and radiopharmaceuticals — all in accordance with SOPs and GMP. Teamwork is essential, as you’ll supervise, motivate, and guide staff to deliver a consistently high‑quality service. You’ll be central to maintaining efficient workflows while responding to clinical priorities and urgent demands.
Qualifications
The role requires an effective communicator with excellent listening skills, a confident, well‑organised, and adaptable individual, passionate about delivering high‑quality patient‑centred services and motivated to develop supervisory and leadership skills. Applications will be considered if you are currently working in a pharmacy role as a Band 4 and are looking to progress.
Responsibilities
* Coordinating and scheduling the daily programme of work within the ASU
* Supervising and actively participating in aseptic dispensing
* Ensuring all activities meet required quality, safety, and regulatory standards
* Liaising with pharmacists, nurses, and nuclear medicine colleagues
* Supporting and contributing to staff training and development
* Assisting the Lead Aseptic Services Technician with operational leadership
