We currently have a vacancy for an Advanced Social Work Practitioner (ASWP). The Team forms part of the MASH. Working in the MASH provides an ideal opportunity to work in a unique Team with partner agencies to provide proportionate and timely responses to adult Safeguarding enquiries. As an experienced Social Worker, you will be able to demonstrate your continued professional development and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, whilst supporting colleagues and partners to make timely and proportionate decisions to meet the needs of the service. Alongside this, you will have experience of leadership, coaching, mentoring and supervision for Social Workers or Community Care Officers.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Team and will contribute towards continued improvement of existing processes and development, to deliver an efficient, effective service. You will also work in partnership with Police and Health to ensure that the quality of information shared between agencies is proportionate, whilst balancing risk and ensuring that the person’s views and wishes are gathered in line with Making Safeguarding Personal.
You will have responsibility for all safeguarding adult enquires and support the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub Officers to maintain their practice expertise. You must be able to evidence the skills required to prioritise risk and effectively manage your own case load whilst identifying any issues or concerns that may impact on service delivery and escalate these appropriately to your Team Manager.
In order to be successful in this role, you must have:
1. Professional Social Work qualification
2. Registered with Social Work England
3. Be an Approved Adult Mental Health Practitioner of Approved Best Interest Assessor
4. Evidence of continued professional development
5. Knowledge and experience of staff supervision
6. Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation relating to adult social care and safeguarding.
7. Excellent customer service and IT skills
8. Ability to work at pace to achieve positive outcomes through evidence-based decision making
You will be able to provide examples of your ability to think and work creatively and create an environment where others are encouraged and supported to explore new ways of working. You will have a thorough working knowledge of the Department’s current adult care strategies and keep up to date with the developments within Adult Social Care & Health & Safeguarding both locally and nationally.
