Construction Health & Safety and Environmental Advisor (18-month FTC)
Location: Agratas, Bridgwater, England, United Kingdom
We are seeking a Construction Health & Safety and Environmental Advisor to support the Construction Site Health and Safety Manager in meeting client duties under CDM 2015 regulations on our ABF Construction Site. This role is a fixed‑term contract of 18 months, requiring on‑site presence 5 days a week with occasional remote work as needed.
Key responsibilities
* Conduct on‑site environment, health and safety audits; produce detailed reports and recommend corrective actions.
* Provide competent advice to improve practices across all areas of the project.
* Collaborate with all principal contractors to ensure environmental constraints are managed, protective measures are maintained, and proactive steps are taken to prevent delays.
* Liaise with principal contractors to ensure compliance with their policies, procedures and risk assessments.
* Support the Construction Site Health and Safety Manager in developing policies, procedures and other documentation.
What you’ll bring
* Confidence in presenting information and leading training or information sessions.
* Ability to assess documentation such as RAMS for compliance.
* Capability to read and understand drawings and plans relevant to the project.
* Leading by example in terms of health and safety.
* Ability to foster and maintain open relationships across the project with multiple companies.
* Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, CDM 2015 regulations, and construction site safety practices, and the ability to research new developments.
* Experience in accident/incident investigations and audits.
* NEBOSH National General Certificate.
* NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
* Membership of a professional body (IOSH or IIRSM).
* Valid CSCS card.
