Overview
Job purpose: To clean a designated area of the school to a high standard.
Hours and pay
Hours: 11¼ hours per week (term-time plus 4 weeks) £12.65ph. Hours of work: 3.15–5.30pm Monday to Friday.
Role
We are looking to appoint a hard-working, enthusiastic and reliable Cleaner to join our team.
Skills and qualifications
* Ability to clean to a high standard, with an attention to detail;
* Ability to work independently and manage own workload;
* Able to communicate effectively;
* A sound knowledge of health and safety policies is desirable (although training will be given);
* Flexibility to meet the needs of the school, including working hours.
Duties
* Cleaning classrooms, activity areas, corridors and toilets;
* To vacuum, clean tables, sinks, dust, empty bins, clean toilets;
* To replenish sanitary materials (toilet paper, paper towels and soap);
* To periodically clean any store rooms in the designated areas;
* Deep clean during the additional 4 weeks outside term time;
* To ensure the cleaning equipment is kept in a clean and working order;
* It should be noted that occasionally there may be a need to change the designated area to cover for sickness or absenteeism;
* To be fully aware of, and to comply with, all departmental instructions and procedures relating to Health and Safety at Work and to recognise the responsibilities required under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974;
* To be fully aware and to comply with the instructions under the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH);
* To report any problems to the Caretaker;
* To perform such other duties of a like nature as required by the Headteacher;
* To undertake/participate in relevant training, including safeguarding;
* Maintain appropriate records regarding incidents.
