About the Role

If you’re passionate about shaping confident, resilient and emotionally literate young people, this is a role where your influence will genuinely matter. We’re looking for an apart‑time PSHE Subject Lead who can bring energy, expertise and heart to a curriculum that sits at the core of our school ethos.

You’ll lead PSHE across KS3–KS5, ensuring every student—particularly those with complex SEMH needs, including Autism—feels seen, supported and empowered to thrive.

PSHE isn’t a bolt‑on here. It’s woven into daily life, guiding how we teach, support and care for our students. As our PSHE Lead, you’ll shape the culture, build staff confidence and champion the personal development of every young person in our community.

What you will be doing

* Lead, deliver and evaluate a high‑quality PSHE curriculum across KS3–KS5, ensuring strong foundations at KS3.
* Drive curriculum development, keeping it aligned with statutory guidance, best practice and the evolving needs of our students.
* Train, coach and support staff, helping them deliver PSHE with confidence, clarity and compassion.
* Build trusting relationships with students to promote engagement, wellbeing and participation.
* Support students through dysregulation, using individual risk assessments and behaviour strategies to guide your approach.
* Use data systems effectively to monitor behaviour, engagement and progress.
* Coordinate whole‑school initiatives, awareness days and enrichment opportunities that embed PSHE into everyday school life.
* Model our school values, uphold safeguarding at all times and ensure safe, nurturing learning environments.

What you will bring

* QTS or equivalent required
* Experience of working within SEN provision
* Passionate about personal development and wellbeing
* Skilled at building relationships with young people
* Knowledgeable about SEMH needs and inclusive practice
* Organised, reflective and committed to continuous improvement
* Able to inspire others and champion the importance of PSHE

Benefits

* Life Assurance
* Pension scheme with options to increase contributions
* “Your Wellbeing Matters” – mental health support and physical health checks
* Flexible Benefits Platform (Vista), including:
o Health, wellbeing and insurance benefits
o Hundreds of UK and international discounts
o Cycle to Work Scheme & Electric Car Purchase Scheme
o Critical illness cover
o Family Growth Support, including enhanced maternity/paternity leave and paid fertility treatment support
