Job Description:

Salary £25,185 - £25,989 per annum | Permanent, Part Time, various hours | Various locations across Burnley and Pendle | International Sponsorship - this role is not open to international sponsorship

Are you passionate about reading and enjoy helping others? We are looking for an enthusiastic, customer-focused, and digitally confident individual to join our library teams. Lancashire Libraries provide welcoming, inclusive spaces where people of all ages can connect, learn, and feel safe. What You'll Be Doing:

As a Library Assistant, you'll support the delivery of a high-quality library and information service, including:

* Assisting customers with accessing digital resources and information.
* Supporting the planning and delivery of events (e.g., author events, class visits).

You will be based at a library but may work at other libraries as required. Hours of work range from 7 to 37 hours per week. Please see attachments for rotas.

Available positions in Burnley and Pendle include:

* Pike Hill Library - 18hpw
* Barnoldswick Library - 15hpw
* Burnley Campus & Padiham Libraries - 12.5hpw
* Coal Clough & Brierfield Libraries - 11hpw
* Burnley Library - 7hpw

Our ideal candidate will be welcoming and friendly, have a love for reading, and be passionate about sharing this. You will possess excellent communication and digital skills, be able to work with various stakeholders, and deliver a customer-focused service.

This is a part-time position; the salary quoted is full-time equivalent and will be paid on a pro-rata basis. The role is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013). Successful applicants will need to apply for a DBS disclosure.
