UPB are working with a reputable and growing, Privately owned construction main contractor to hire an Assistant Quantity Surveyor for a salary position in the Derbyshire, East Midlands area. The successful candidate will be working on any number of framework contracts, that the business is a part of.
You will benefit from working in a personable environment, with an experienced commercial team daily, continuously developing your skill-set whilst managing elements of the commercial process independently over time.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the preparation of accurate cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports.
* Collaborate with project teams to monitor and control costs throughout the project lifecycles.
* Assist in the procurement of subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to quality standards.
* Contribute to value engineering and cost-saving initiatives.
* Keep abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
Qualifications:
* Construction related qualification (preferred not essential)
* Proficient in relevant software tools (e.g., Excel)
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team and take initiative when necessary.
* Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
