Peregrine are always looking for skilled Infrastructure Engineers to design, implement, and maintain reliable, scalable, and secure infrastructure across our technology estate. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem‑solving abilities, and experience supporting mission‑critical systems in fast‑paced environments.
Typically your responsibilities will include;
Design, build, and maintain on‑premise and/or cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP).
Manage servers, networks, storage, and virtualisation platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper‑V).
Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability tools.
Ensure high availability, redundancy, and disaster recovery capabilities across systems.
Perform system upgrades, patching, and configuration management.
Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, minimising downtime and performance impacts.
Work closely with security teams to ensure compliance and implement best‑practice security controls.
Collaborate with DevOps and software engineering teams to support CI/CD pipelines and automation.
Document infrastructure designs, processes, and procedures.
Required Skills & Experience could include;
Strong experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
Proficiency with Windows and/or Linux server administration.
Experience managing networking technologies (DNS, DHCP, firewalls, VPNs, routing).
Solid understanding of virtualisation (VMware, Hyper‑V) and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
Hands‑on experience with automation tools (PowerShell, Bash, Terraform, Ansible, or similar).
Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, Zabbix).
Knowledge of identity and access management solutions (Active Directory, Azure AD).
Strong troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis skills.
Preferred skills could include;
Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
Experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
Knowledge of backup technologies and disaster recovery planning.
Understanding of security frameworks and compliance requirements (ISO27001, NIST, CIS).
Experience supporting hybrid environments (on‑prem + cloud).
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Relevant certifications are a plus (e.g., Azure Administrator, AWS SysOps, CCNA, VMware VCP).
