The Opportunity
Are you passionate about food safety, labelling compliance, and delivering excellence from concept to shelf? Walkers Deli & Sausage Co. is looking for a detail-driven Specifications Technologist to join our Technical team in Leicester. Reporting to the Specifications Co-Ordinator, you’ll be responsible for managing product specifications for our major retail customers, ensuring product labelling meets the highest standards of food safety, quality, and legislation. You’ll play a critical role in launching new products and ensuring existing lines remain compliant and accurate.
* Maintain and complete product specifications for branded and own-label products using retailer web-based systems.
* Co-manage the artwork approval process, ensuring packaging accuracy and legal compliance.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams on critical path management to ensure timely product launches.
* Attend customer pre-artwork meetings to represent the business and align on expectations.

* Experience in a technical role within food manufacturing.
* Strong understanding of food labelling and manufacturing processes from concept to launch.
* Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
* Skilled in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and web-based specification systems.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
