Job description
Permanent position. Our client, a leading engineering and maintenance provider, is seeking a Lead EC&I Engineer to join their team in Warrington. The company supports customers across sectors including chemical, petrochemical, nuclear, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, power & energy, utilities, renewables, and food & beverage markets. This role focuses on enhancing asset efficiency, ensuring high availability, and reducing maintenance costs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee EC&I design within multi-discipline projects.
2. Act as the technical authority for EC&I, supporting the Engineering Manager.
3. Manage projects mainly in the UK, with potential in Europe and other regions.
4. Lead projects from concept to commissioning, including greenfield and brownfield applications.
5. Ensure consistency in EC&I engineering and design with other disciplines, managing budgets and timelines.
6. Engage with clients to manage expectations and scope.
7. Participate in and lead design reviews.
8. Provide technical support and make independent decisions in EC&I Engineering.
9. Coordinate EC&I engineering with Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Process, and Automation disciplines.
10. Oversee estimates and control project costs related to progress, scope changes, and man hours.
Job Requirements:
* Experience as a Lead EC&I Engineer in multi-discipline projects.
* Ability to act as a technical authority or line manager.
* Deep knowledge of EC&I engineering and design, with understanding of other disciplines.
* MEng / BEng in EC&I Engineering (Chartered or Incorporated Engineer preferred).
* TUV Certification.
* Strong understanding of standards such as 7671, 7430, 61508, 61511, ATEX, DSEAR, LV and HV.
* Experience producing EC&I specifications, calculations, drawings, and schedules.
* Result-oriented with focus on client satisfaction and quality.
* Proficiency in EC&I design tools like AMTECH, AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux, and Microsoft Office.
* Ability to identify growth opportunities and support sales and business strategies.
* Effective delegation and leadership skills.
* Experience leading design review meetings and mentoring engineers.
