Role Details
* Location: Axiom Veterinary Laboratories - Manor House, Brunel Road, Newton Abbot, Devon, United Kingdom, TQ12 4PB
* Contract: Permanent
* Hours: 40 hours per week
* Shift Pattern: Tuesday‑Saturday between the hours of 07.00‑18.00

Axiom Veterinary Laboratory is a busy diagnostic pathology facility servicing a large group of veterinary practices across the country.
The laboratory in Newton Abbot is responsible for processing veterinary samples for clinical diagnostic purposes.

About the Role
As a Laboratory Technician in our Molecular Diagnostics department, you will be part of a dynamic, high‑throughput diagnostic team.
* Sample Preparation: The organisation of clinical samples ready for processing.
* Nucleic acid extraction: Purification of DNA & RNA from clinical samples.
* PCR: The set up and analysis of Real Time PCR testing for a variety of clinical targets.
* Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring all equipment is functioning properly and maintained according to standards.
* Record Keeping: Maintaining clear and accurate records to support the timely reporting of results.
* Communication: Acting as a key liaison to ensure smooth information flow between colleagues, managers, and other departments.
