The Role
Our infrastructure supports the systems that secure the UK. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), your expertise in mechanical and electrical systems will ensure standards are met and maintained. You may work independently, with other SMEs, or with the Technical Assurance team, overseeing our estate.
Your responsibilities could include reviewing building designs or analyzing infrastructure issues, relying on your knowledge of mechanical and electrical building systems to provide technical solutions. The varied projects mean no two days are the same, and you'll play a vital role in our mission.
You might also have line management duties, guiding and supporting team members. Extended hours may be required occasionally, compensated by overtime. Some UK travel and limited overseas travel should be expected.
About You
A solid understanding of mechanical and electrical (M&E) building systems such as HVAC and HV/LV distribution is essential. Ideally, you are a SME with relevant qualifications like AP electrical or mechanical, or equivalent experience. Training will be provided to reach appropriate standards, considering relevant experience and qualifications like City & Guilds Electrical Installation or similar facilities management qualifications.
You should have practical experience in maintaining, installing, and assuring M&E systems, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Leadership experience with small teams is advantageous.
A full UK driving license is required.
