We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated Practice Nurse to join our friendly and forward thinking Practice.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced practice Nurse working in general practice who has the commitment to deliver an exceptional patient/clinician experience within a professional environment.
You will be working closely with the team to achieve the highest levelof care towards our patients.
We are a busy practice and the ideal candidate would need to be flexible, versatile and up for a challenge.
The successful candidate will be working 30 hours a week over 3 days.
The working days and hours are Monday 8am - 6pm, Wednesday 7am - 5pm and Thursday 8am - 6pm. Unfortunately the hours are set and we are not able to offer any flexibility in the shift pattern due to room availability at the practice.
On a rota basis there would be an expectation to work 7am starts 8pm finishes and the occasional Saturday to support the practice in there commitment to GP extended access services and seasonal events.
A driving licence and access to your own vehicle would be a necessity.
Main duties of the job
* We are looking for someone who as experience in all areas of General practice nursing and as a willingness to learn new things
* Diabetes reviews and management
* Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by senior nursing staff and GPs
* Cytology
* Wound care specialism would be advantageous / ulcer care/Doppler
* Removal of Sutures
* ECGs
* Asthma/Peak Flow Readings/Spirometry
* Venepuncture
* Ear syringing
* Routine immunizations/Childhood immunisations
* Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician
* Learning Disabilities
* Assisting GPs with minor surgery and coil fittings
* Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
* Coronary Heart Disease and Contraception.
* Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to senior nurses or GPs as appropriate
About us
We are a well established GP practice situated in Sutton In Ashfield.
Our Practice consists of 5 GP partners and 4 salaried GPs. We are also an approved training practice and have a full compliment of Junior Doctors.
The GPs are supported by a team of practice nurses, HCAs a phlebotomist and a full administration team including a practice manager and two Business Support Officers .

Job responsibilities
* Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by senior nursing staff and GPs
* Cytology
* Removal of Sutures
* ECGs
* Asthma/Peak Flow Readings/Spirometry
* Venepuncture
* Ear syringing
* Routine immunizations/Childhood immunisations
* Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician
* Assisting GPs with minor surgery and coil fittings
* Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
* Interest Coronary Heart Disease and Contraception.
* Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to senior nurses or GPs as appropriate
* Other tasks will include
* Clean and sterilise equipment using autoclave monitoring autoclave
* Maintaining and cleaning equipment used by the nurses and GPs
* Maintaining GP and Nurses rooms, stocking, and rotating items as required
* Chaperoning and assisting patients who are being examined by another clinician.
* Maintain general tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms
* Maintain stock of waiting room leaflets as instructed by partners and Practice Manager
* Ordering of Health Promotion Literature
* Ordering of vaccinations to maintain stock levels
* Participation in administrative systems in the Practice
* At all times there will be a need to maintain accurate records
* A duty to advise senior nurses of potential problems or errors within a range of assigned tasks
* Attend and participate in any Practice meetings when required.
* On occasion there may be a requirement to undertake home visits
* Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post
