Job Title: Senior Financial Accountant
Salary: £50,000-65,000
Location: Birmingham City Centre (4/1 hybrid split)
Qualifications: ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
Marks Sattin are recruiting on behalf of a professional services business in Birmingham who are looking for a Senior Financial Accountant on a full time, permanent basis.
This is the perfect opportunity for a fully qualified accountant with a demonstrable history of technical accounting and ambitions for long term career growth.
Candidates moving out of practice are strongly encouraged (specifically Big 4 / Top 15).
Day to Day Responsibilities
* Supporting the Financial Controller with day‑to‑day financial control, ensuring robust reporting, governance, and compliance.
* Responsibility month‑end, year‑end, and statutory reporting, delivering accurate and timely financial information to directors and stakeholders.
* Strengthen financial processes, controls, and systems to support scale and operational efficiency.
* Support the Financial Controller with budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
* Lead and develop a small finance team, embedding a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
About You
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
* Strong technical grounding with hands‑on experience in a professional services environment.
* First time movers / newly qualified candidates are strongly encouraged.
