Teaching Personnel is seeking a compassionate, proactive, and dedicated Pastoral Support Officer to work within a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Northampton, starting in September. As a Pastoral Support Officer, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, supportive environment where students feel heard, valued, and empowered. You will work closely with teaching staff, senior leadership, parents, and external agencies to ensure every student receives the care and guidance they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide day-to-day pastoral care, supporting students’ emotional, social, and behavioural needs.
* Monitor and promote positive attendance and punctuality.
* Develop strong, trusting relationships with students and act as a key contact for those requiring additional pastoral support.
* Support with safeguarding concerns and ensure all procedures are followed in line with school policy.
* Assist in the planning and delivery of interventions to promote well-being, resilience, and positive behaviour.
Ideal Candidate:
* Experience working with young people in a school or similar setting.
* Strong understanding of safeguarding, pastoral care, and the challenges young people face.
* Excellent communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to remain calm, patient, and solution-focused under pressure.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
