St Martin’s is a large 11-18 school based in the town centre of Caerphilly. Pupil numbers on roll are currently just below 1000. The school has 70+ teaching staff and 30+ support staff.
We wish to appoint a suitably qualified/experienced Network Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the school’s ICT network, website & support of ICT initiatives for administration and teaching & learning. In addition, they will possess expert knowledge and creativity skills to utilise the hardware used by pupils including PCs, interactive whiteboards, Apple Macs and iPads, as well as various other peripherals. Their working knowledge of educational software programmes will be clearly evident.
The successful candidate will be able to strongly demonstrate their ability to:
•Manage a large network effectively within an educational setting, with careful prioritisation, ideally with knowledge of RM systems & Apple educational products
•Contribute to the school’s strategic ICT development
•Lead, coach and manage staff
•Support staff with professional expertise
•Enable the school to be innovative in meeting the demands of education in the future
•Manage a large budget and ensure value for money
•Demonstrate excellent communication skills with all stakeholders
•Take responsibility for the successful performance, stability, security and continuity of the core IT network infrastructure
•Work effectively with internal and external IT teams
•Actively review and provide monitoring support of IT systems
•Recommend design & planning improvements to drive improvement
Hours: Monday to Thursday - 8am-4pm and Friday 8am-3:30pm
37 hours per week, full time (52 weeks)
