Director of Strategy & Transformation (18 month fixed-term contract)
The NSPCC is the UK’s oldest and largest children’s charity, and everything we do is driven by one unwavering belief: every child deserves to be safe, loved, and free from abuse. Today, that mission has never been more urgent. From tackling the challenges of online safety to providing vital support through our frontline services, we are responding every day to the changing world children are growing up in.
Our current ten-year Strategy has three main themes, which are: Everyone plays their part to prevent child abuse; Every child is safe online; and Children feel safe, listened to and are supported. The Strategy was launched in 2021, since when the operating environment has significantly changed. We are about to embark on a comprehensive mid-point review, and want to ensure that we take full advantage of this process to understand how we need to adjust our approach in the second five-year period.
As Director of Strategy and Transformation, you will lead, drive and deliver the process of gathering insight, engaging with the full range of stakeholders, enabling us to agree a shared choice architecture, and supporting us to make well‑founded decisions. The outcome will be a new strategy and a clear, concise transformation plan – the roadmap for how we can achieve our goals. The new Strategy will be deliverable, measurable, integrated and future‑focused. Importantly, it must be underpinned by robust portfolio management and a relentless commitment to the voice and wellbeing of children and young people.
In parallel with this work, you’ll also identify how we can build the organisational capacity and capability to improve and accelerate our progress. You will define the portfolio of projects required to deliver the transformation programme, produce all associated investment business cases, and oversee its internal governance. You will also lead on the implementation of the 26/27 business plan, as well as preparing the business plan and budget for 27/28.
This role will make a direct, immediate impact to our work, and to the children we help. If you’re ready to take on a role that will stretch your leadership and make a lasting difference to millions of children, find out more at https://cadence-nspcc.co.uk/
