Milk Education are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant – Southend-on-Sea (SS0) to work within a welcoming and inclusive secondary school near Leigh-on-Sea. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant – Southend-on-Sea looking to gain hands-on classroom experience and develop within Education and Training.
The Teaching Assistant – Southend-on-Sea role is well suited to aspiring teachers or graduates who are keen to support pupils across KS3 and KS4, including those with SEMH needs. You will play a key role in supporting learning, behaviour, and attendance within the classroom.
You’ll be joining a secondary school that places a strong emphasis on inclusion, structure, and staff development, particularly within a community facing high levels of disadvantage. The school offers excellent Education and Training exposure, with Milk Education providing continued support and long-term Education and Training opportunities.
What You’ll Be Doing in the Role:
1. Supporting pupils in lessons across a range of subjects
2. Delivering small-group and 1:1 interventions where needed
3. Assisting teachers with classroom management and lesson delivery
4. Encouraging positive behaviour, engagement, and attendance
Essential Qualifications:
5. Previous experience working with children or young people
6. A proactive, adaptable, and supportive approach in the classroom
7. Strong communication and teamwork skills
8. An interest in progressing within Education and Training
