Our Client, A Large Public Sector Organisation based in Coleraine require a PR Officer to join their team.
Location : Coleraine
Hours of work : 37 hrs per week
Hourly Rate : 1-12 weeks £ 13 weeks + £
Main Duties :
1. Produce and design engaging and exciting video content and other collateral for marketing and communications activity. Develop promotional material, staff and citizens' newsletters / e-newsletters and website. Co-ordinate both internally and with relevant third parties to deliver content / campaigns.
2. Act as the first point of contact for media and Public Relations enquiries, to inform the relative department lead, sourcing relevant information and drafting the responses within the specified timeframe.
3. Develop and maintain good working relationships with personnel from the media to maximise a positive image of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council.
4. Draft public notices, advertisements and press releases within designated timeframes and provide general business support to the Press Office.
5.. Provide advice and assistance to staff in relation to production of literature and press releases, in accordance with Public Relations/Communications Protocols.
6. Arrange photocalls, sourcing people, objects, location and photographer, preparing photo captions and distribution to media.
7. Arrange media attendance at project launches and other Council events.
8. Co-ordinate and facilitate consultation and engagement exercises with staff groups, the wider community, users of civic facilities and key stakeholders, in relation to Customer Services as directed by Democratic and Central Services Manager and compile reports as required.

Essential Criteria :
9. A level 4 qualification, or above, in a relevant discipline eg Communications, Journalism, English or Public Relations.
AND
10. A minimum of two years' relevant experience working within one or more of the following fields: Public Relations, Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications or Media.
OR
11. Alternatively, consideration will be given to candidates who do not possess the required educational qualification but who can demonstrate four years' relevant experience working within one or more of the following fields: Public Relations, Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications or Media.
PLUS
12. One year's experience in the use of Microsoft Office applications to include: Word and Outlook.
13. One year's experience of copywriting, editing and proofreading skills.
14. Knowledge of researching and preparing press releases.
15. Knowledge in the design and preparation of public relations or media plans.
16. Knowledge and understanding of a range of social media platforms.
17. Knowledge of Mailchimp and Adobe InDesign.
18. A clear understanding of the workings of local government and the wider environment in which it operates.
19. A full current driving licence (Category B, valid in the UK) and access to a vehicle that will enable the post holder to meet the requirements of the post OR have access to a form of transport that enables you to carry out the duties of the post.
