Overview
IT Support Technician - 1st / 2nd Line at TieTalent. Location: York, North Yorkshire. Salary: £23k to £26k, dependent on experience. Job Type: Permanent, Full-time.
This is a market-leading company that provides IT solutions for opticians and the optical profession throughout the UK and Ireland. You will be part of an office-based Support Desk Team, providing a high-quality and efficient service to over 500 customers.
Responsibilities
* Provide telephone support for customers with hardware or software issues.
* Analyse and resolve customer problems quickly and efficiently.
* Provide remote support by dialing into customer systems when necessary.
* Log all calls on the company\'s support software and update as needed.
* Document and report bugs and change requests to the Development team.
* Make courtesy calls to customers who have not contacted the Support Desk for over 6 months.
* Occasional travel to customer sites may be required, which may involve overnight stays. A company pool car will be provided for this.
About you / Qualifications
* Minimum of two years of experience in an end-user desktop support role.
* Reliability, punctuality, and thorough understanding of PC hardware, peripherals, and peer-to-peer networking.
* Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Windows desktop environment and Office suite.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team with excellent communication skills and a calm, professional demeanor.
* Full and clean UK driving licence required.
