School Caretaker – Cullompton

Are you practical, reliable and looking for a role where you can be a key part of a school community? We’re looking for a School Caretaker to work across schools in Cullompton, with flexible hours available to suit your schedule.
The Role
As a caretaker, you’ll be the go-to person for keeping the school running smoothly day-to-day. Your duties will include:
Site Security: Unlocking and locking the school each day, setting alarms, monitoring visitor access.
Maintenance & Repairs: Carrying out basic DIY tasks, reporting larger issues, keeping the school safe and operational.
Health & Safety: Regular checks of fire alarms, emergency exits, and playground equipment, ensuring compliance with regulations.
Cleaning & Grounds: Supporting cleaning teams, tidying outdoor areas, gritting paths in winter, and making sure the school looks its best.
Event Support: Setting up classrooms, assembly halls and sports areas for lessons and after-school events.
We’re Looking For
Previous experience in caretaking, maintenance, or facilities (desirable).
Someone hands-on, proactive and able to work independently.
Good problem-solving skills and a practical mindset.
Reliability and flexibility – schools rely on their caretakers!
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
