This post will introduce a Lymphoma subspecialty to our team as part of a redesign of haematology services across the Health Board and will continue to develop as part of the wider transformation process. Support for the post includes Associate Specialists, Specialty Doctors, Clinical Fellow as well as foundation Trainees. The team also includes Haematology CNS team and Specialist pharmacists.

Main duties of the job
Clinical - The appointee should be able to demonstrate experience in the management of Lymphoma and General Haematology. The successful candidate will develop this subspecialty across the health board and working alongside the generalist consultants.
Inpatients - The appointee will participate in an attending and on-call rota for the Haverfordwest site. At the three peripheral sites, the contribution is consultative to the local medical team.
Outpatients - The appointee will be expected to participate in 3-4 clinics per week, within Lymphoma and General Haematology. Consideration for other subspecialist workload could be considered, depending on applicant’s experience to date.
There is a weekly health board wide MDT and opportunities to join other MDTs from all Wales MDTs.
The duties outlined below are not definitive and may be changed in accordance with the needs of the service.
* The appointee is required to have full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice.
* The appointee will contribute to all aspects of the general haematology and haemo-oncology work including participation in departmental meetings and on-call rota.
* 10 Sessions with 1xSPA per week.
* Clinics in other hospital sites will be required (virtual clinics are an option).
* The appointee must be someone who can help develop our rural service to ensure excellent patient care

Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. Our 11,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services for around 384,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales. * Four main hospitals: Bronglais General in Aberystwyth, Glangwili General in Carmarthen, Prince Philip in Llanelli and Withybush General in Haverfordwest;
* Seven community hospitals: Amman Valley and Llandovery in Carmarthenshire; Tregaron, Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire Hospital Health and Social Care Resource Centre in Pembrokeshire;
* 48 general practices (four of which are managed practices), 47 dental practices (including three orthodontic), 99 community pharmacies, 44 general ophthalmic practices (43 providing Eye Health Examination Wales and 34 low vision services) and 17 domiciliary only providers and 11 health centres;
* Numerous locations providing mental health and learning disabilities services;
* Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.
