Electrical Systems Engineer
The role of Electrical Systems Engineer for Aerius Marine UK sits at the core of our business. From supporting the preparation of tender responses through to the development of new HVAC operation and control systems, production of design documentation, technical support to commissioning teams and through life design change and upgrades, the role offers a unique opportunity to experience the full product lifecycle.
Primary responsibilities:
1. Development of the clients’ requirements into viable system designs
2. Developing and managing the control philosophy for the HVAC system
3. Produce specifications for supplier/subcontractor deliverables
4. Managing all aspects of the HVAC control system design and the electrical equipment within the HVAC system
5. Managing the HVAC control systems interface with other ship systems, for example: Platform Management SystemLow Voltage Electrical Distribution SystemC&I (estops and hardwired safety)Condition Monitoring EquipmentChilled Water System
6. Production of design documentation in accordance with contract requirements, including: Interface Specification (control philosophy and PMS physical interface)Software Specification (software design, interface, management and security)I/O schedulesPart Drawings – including control panels and startersElectrical Load SchedulesCable SchedulesTermination SchedulesEarthing & Bonding SchedulesSingle Line DiagramsPrinciple Indication Diagrams (PID)
7. Liaising with project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, including: Technical support to both internal and external client/ supplier design reviewsIntegration, validation and safety reviewssuppliers and subcontractors design deliverable reviews including factory acceptance trials
Required skills and qualifications:
Essential
8. HNC in Electrical Engineering, (equivalent trade qualification or vocational experience will be considered)
9. Proven design experience with Marine Electrical Systems
10. Experience with naval electrical standards and classification societies
11. Proven client interface capability
12. Proven supplier management capability
13. Experience of PLC control (preferably with software design/specification experience)
14. Experience in Control Panel design and specification.
Desirable
15. 2D AutoCAD and Foran
16. Experience of leading a small team
Experience in creating Bill of Materials (BOM) and product data management
17. Proficient with Microsoft office, word excel, power point etc.
