Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, forward-thinking research nurse to join our friendly, rural practice. We are seeking a nurse who can work between 14-16 hours per week. We offer a competitive salary that is negotiable depending on experience.
The post holder will support the coordination and management of clinical research projects, collaborating with primary care personnel and PCNs across the West of the country.
The main focus of the role is to support practices in increasing their engagement and participation in suitable primary care studies. This includes improving the delivery and development of each practice's research portfolio through participant identification, coordination, recruitment, performance monitoring, and documentation management.
The post holder will ensure that all research activities safeguard participant well-being and adhere to ICH Good Clinical Practice standards.
Main Duties
Responsibilities include:
1. Supporting research teams to facilitate efficient, safe, and participant-focused research.
2. Contributing to the recruitment of the local portfolio of clinical research studies.
3. Working with GP practice teams to screen, identify, and recruit suitable patients for clinical trials, understanding the clinical patient pathway.
4. Ensuring research is conducted according to good clinical practice and research governance standards.
5. Coordinating a caseload of research participants, supporting treatment, assessment, and follow-up as per protocol.
6. Understanding research terminology, methodology, and study design.
7. Raising awareness of clinical research within service teams and the public.
8. Acting in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and maintaining registration/revalidation requirements.
9. Recording study data accurately on paper and electronic systems.
10. Assisting in gaining local permissions for research studies.
About Us
We are a research collaborative comprising three practices in Nailsworth, Stonehouse, and Stroud. The successful candidate will be based at Prices Mill Surgery and cover other practices. Having a car is necessary for visits.
