Overview
InHealth sees more than 5 million patients each year and diagnostic imaging is one of the busiest services that we provide. We are looking for a MRI Radiographer to join our Radiography Department in Surrey.
Hours: Monday-Sunday 3 x 12 hour shifts between 7am and 9pm typically.
Responsibilities
* Carry out magnetic resonance imaging procedures to best practice standards of radiographic techniques (MHRA Guidance 2015, IR(ME)R 2017, Code of Clinical Practice).
* Provide a great experience for patients attending MRI scanning, supporting them through the process from referral to results.
* Run quality assurance checks on equipment and action as appropriate.
* Respect patients in line with their customs, values and beliefs; seek and take into account their views.
* Perform triage functions of referrals, as required.
* Support patient bookings and ensure patient information systems are maintained with accurate and up-to-date information.
* Complete competency assessments and adhere to all operational procedures.
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
* Share knowledge and clinical experience with the wider team to support growth and development.
What we are looking for
* BSc Radiography or equivalent
* Membership of an appropriate professional body and valid HCPC registration
* Good understanding of fundamental MRI physics and different scanning techniques and sequences
* Knowledge of radiographers responsibilities regarding patient care, careers and colleagues
* High level of professionalism and technical standards
* Aptitude for improving quality and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
* Understanding of the Data Protection Act, Caldicott Principles and GDPR
* Flexible approach to work and ability to work across 7 days (Mon-Sun)
* Strong team player, supportive, caring, reliable and trustworthy
* Ability to stay calm under pressure in a busy environment
* Positive attitude and passion for the service provided
* A commitment to developing a career in radiography
You should apply if you have experience
* Experience working with MRI equipment in hospital or mobile settings
* Experience in basic and routine MRI examinations, with appetite to learn more complex scans
* Experience with infection control, manual handling, basic life support
* Experience scanning with contrast or willingness to learn
* Experience with health and safety policies and procedures for imaging equipment
* Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team
