Overview
Job Description: Step into a high-impact role where you are the face of Hussmann quality in the field. As a Senior Field Quality Specialist, you will lead complex, customer-facing initiatives that directly shape product performance and customer satisfaction. You will partner across engineering, manufacturing, and external contractors to drive quality execution from product release through delivery—ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. You will influence NTD, NPD, and COD processes to accelerate innovation and improve speed, efficiency, and execution.
Responsibilities
* Perform field installation and commissioning and lead root-cause analysis of field-reported Hussmann product issues to meet customer support objectives within budget, on time, and to required quality and functionality. Key functions include:
* Effectively manage field projects within budgetary guidelines
* Manage individual utilization, maintain itinerary plans, and proactively inform managers and leads when schedule permits special project work
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project objectives, drive root cause analysis, and mitigate customer risk
* Provide customer support related to delivery and startup of sustaining and new products
* Participate in meetings with cross-functional teams to ensure robust support plans for field escapes, issues, large customer start-up projects, and new products and controls start-ups
* Champion projects to completion and support process improvement activities
* Oversee complex order and new product builds
* Drive cross-functional accountability related to Field Quality to mitigate customer risk
* Document onsite findings using the field report creation process and utilize the Field Escalation process when applicable
* Perform standard Field Quality Specialist duties, including conducting plant and customer site audits to identify opportunities for continuous improvement of product and processes
* Interact directly with customers, contractors, technicians, and engineering to provide advanced technical expertise and instill confidence in Hussmann equipment, installation, technical support, and service; provide startup support on refrigeration systems and merchandisers as needed
* Maintain professionalism as the field quality specialist is viewed as Hussmann’s technical expert
* Influence warranty expenditures by identifying and resolving issues prior to equipment start-up
* Mentor and develop emerging FQS team members in startup and functionality of Hussmann products
* Facilitate/coordinator training as required; provide peer-to-peer training; create training material; champion employee engagement initiatives
Qualifications
* Minimum High School Diploma; technical degree and/or Bachelor’s degree preferred
* A minimum of 7 years refrigeration/HVAC or related industry experience
* Advanced industry product knowledge with hands-on understanding of complex refrigeration systems; advanced knowledge of electrical controls and equipment
* Field project management experience
* Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
* Experience facilitating meetings with cross-functional teams preferred
* Experience managing complex customer start-ups
* Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
* Manufacturing new product launch/build experience a plus
* Mobility within work facilities including manufacturing and installation sites
* Knowledgeable and/or trainable in Hussmann systems (Aftermarket, Tavant, CRM Dynamics, QMS, Team Center)
* Up to 70% independent travel to manufacturing and customer sites

The salary range of $84,628-$157,165 is one component of Hussmann’s total package. Actual compensation varies based on knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives. The minimum hourly wage will be the greater of the posted range or local minimum wage, subject to local requirements.
