Responsibilities
As a Senior or Principal Town Planner, you will:
* Prepare and manage a variety of planning applications, appeals, and supporting documentation.
* Provide high:quality planning advice to clients across key sectors.
* Conduct site assessments, policy analysis, and pre:application discussions.
* Represent clients at planning committees, hearings, and community engagement events.
* Lead client communications and manage projects of varying complexity.
* Support and mentor junior colleagues, contributing to their professional development.
* Play an active role in business development and the growth of the Edinburgh office.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* MRTPI qualification with post:qualification experience as a Senior or Principal Town Planner.
* Strong knowledge of Scottish planning legislation, policy, and procedures.
* Proven ability to manage complex projects and meet client expectations.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* A proactive and collaborative approach to working within a consultancy team.
Day:to:Day
Your typical day may include:
* Meeting with clients to discuss project requirements and provide planning advice.
* Preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals.
* Conducting site visits and liaising with local authorities.
* Attending planning committees, hearings, or public consultation events.
* Collaborating with colleagues on project strategies and deliverables.
* Mentoring junior team members and sharing your expertise.
