Position Purpose:
Move hazardous waste between our Stericycle depots, swapping waste streams to the correct facility.
Contribute to the safe and timely movement and transportation of clinical and industrial waste.
Work as part of the transportation team to provide excellent customer service while ensuring all legal compliance issues regarding EU Working Time Directive (EU hours) and ADR Transportation Regulations are fully adhered to.
Support Service Managers and Service Coordinators on a day-to-day basis; shift patterns any 5 from 7 including legal holidays when required.
Key Job Activities:
* Carry out daily schedules to agreed routes and timings.
* Complete documentation required by legislation and corporate procedures regarding drivers’ hours and WTD.
* Ensure compliance with statutory requirements related to Road Traffic Act, vehicle, driver’s hours, digital Tachograph records, vehicle weight, and speed limits.
* Follow all relevant ADR/Hazardous goods legislation requirements.
* Adhere to company standard operating procedures.
* Act as a customer contact at delivery points, maintaining politeness and courtesy at all times.
* Attend work instructions, training, and staff meetings as required.
* Undertake ad-hoc duties and display flexibility in working times and shifts.
* Follow management requests, operate professionally, report incidents, and complete documentation.
* Perform vehicle checks before use, report defects to Service Co-Ordinators.
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent (GCSE).
Experience:
Previous driving experience preferred. Required: LGV Class 1 Licence, Driver CPC. Preferred: ADR Training.
