Service Care Solutions is working with a well-regarded local authority in Devon that is looking to appoint a Principal Social Care Solicitor to their in-house legal team. The primary specialisms for this post will be Childcare Law, with Adult Social Care Law as a secondary area of focus.
Role: Principal Social Care Solicitor
Location: Local Authority – Devon – hybrid
Umbrella Rate: £60 - £70ph
PAYE Inc Holiday Rate: £52.79 - £61.49ph
Contract Length: 4 months ongoing
The Role:
The legal service is currently undergoing a period of structural change, and this role will be key in providing stability, leadership, and direction during a time of transition.
Responsibilities include:
* Providing high-quality legal advice to Social Care team.
* Offering guidance and supervision to the social care team on complex and high-profile cases.
* Playing an active role in strategy and legal planning within the team.
The primary focus will be Childcare Law, with Adult Social Care Law as a secondary focus.
Requirements:
The council is looking for a qualified Solicitor or Barrister with substantial experience in public law social care matters. Previous local authority experience is highly desirable. The ideal candidate must have exceptional people management skills and have experience of managing a team in a recent role.
