Environmental Manager – North West (Construction)
Our client, an established Tier 1 contractor, are recruiting an Environmental Manager to support projects across the North West, operating from a regional office in Greater Manchester with regular site involvement.
This is a key role within a well-established, award-winning Sustainability team, providing environmental leadership and technical support across live projects from tender stage through to completion.
The successful candidate will work closely with project teams, supply chain partners, and clients to ensure environmental risks are effectively managed and sustainability opportunities are maximised. You will also play a central role in delivering an ambitious sustainability strategy aligned to long-term environmental goals.
This role suits a proactive self-starter who enjoys working autonomously, influencing others, and embedding best practice within a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide specialist environmental advice and support across multiple construction projects
* Support compliance with company, project, and regulatory environmental requirements, including environmental impact reduction initiatives
* Lead the implementation and maintenance of the Environmental Risk Management System, supporting continued ISO 14001:2015 certification
* Promote and embed a positive sustainability culture across project teams
* Ensure accurate and timely submission of environmental and sustainability KPIs, including data analysis to drive performance improvement
* Provide technical environmental input into tender submissions, project planning, and business strategy
* Oversee environmental compliance through auditing, monitoring, and reporting
* Support the development of engaging environmental communications
* Upskill, coach, and support project teams in managing environmental risk and delivering sustainability objectives
Essential Requirements
* Minimum Level 4 qualification (HNC, NVQ Level 4 or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
* CSCS card (appropriate to role)
* Full UK driving licence
