Job Description

Ofsted Registered Manager

* Location: MK
* Salary: £60,000
* Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and highly motivated Ofsted Registered Manager to lead our Ofsted-regulated children's home. This pivotal leadership role focuses on creating a nurturing, safe, and empowering environment for children and young people, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and compliance with Ofsted regulations.

Day-to-Day of the Role:

* Ensure the home consistently meets and exceeds Ofsted’s standards, aiming for a “Good” or “Outstanding” rating.
* Lead, manage, and develop a team of care professionals to deliver high-quality care and support.
* Oversee the implementation of individual care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies.
* Promote a child-centred approach, ensuring the voice of the child is central to all decision-making.
* Maintain robust safeguarding practices and respond effectively to any concerns or incidents.
* Manage budgets, resources, and staffing to ensure operational efficiency.
* Liaise with external agencies including social workers, education providers, health professionals, and families.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation including the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards.
* Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections, ensuring all documentation and practices are inspection-ready.
* Provide regular supervision, training, and performance reviews for staff.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a children’s residential setting, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role.
* Proven track record of achieving positive Ofsted outcomes.
* Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and trauma-informed care.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage complex situations.
