Senior Accountant with strong experience in accountancy, reporting, and compliance, ideally within the energy sector. The role involves preparing financial statements, analysing data, ensuring regulatory adherence, and supporting strategic decisions through collaboration with senior management and departments across the Group in the oil and gas industry.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
* Preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in line with IFRS or GAAP.
* Delivering monthly management accounts accurately and on schedule.
* Making sure accounting practices meet legal and tax requirements.
* Working with auditors and provide necessary information during audits.
General Ledger & Accounting Operations
* Managing and balancing general ledger accounts, including revenue, joint ventures, and cost allocations.
* Supporting month-end and year-end close, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
* Overseeing asset recording, depreciation, and impairment reviews for upstream and downstream activities.
Project & Cost Accounting
* Working with operations and project teams to track costs and support budgeting and forecasting.
* Helping develop and monitor project accounting practices.
* Ensuring projects are reported and completed on time.
Financial Planning & Advisory
* Reviewing financial performance, highlight key variances, and suggest improvements.
* Offering financial advice to senior managers and project teams.
* Assessing financial risks and highlight potential opportunities.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
* Liaising with external accountants and group companies when needed.
* Communicating with banks, auditors, investors, and other external parties.
* Supporting the implementation of financial controls, policies, and procedures.
