About the role
Race Leys Infant School caters for children from 4 to 7 years old. We are a forward thinking school focused on providing high quality education in a safe and stimulating environment. The contract is to commence as soon as possible and runs until 20 July 2026 in the first instance. It is term time only with 3 remaining teacher training days this academic year (39 weeks in total). Hours are 8:40am – 3:10pm, Monday – Friday.
This role is to work with small groups of children with special educational needs. The role will also include ½ hour per day of lunchtime cover to supervise children during lunch, supporting positive behaviour and safe, purposeful play.

Salary: Band F SCP 7-10. £16,579.87 - £17,671.89 per annum (actual).
Location: Race Leys Infant School, Hurst Rd, Bedworth, CV12 8AD.
Key responsibilities
* Work with small groups of children with special educational needs under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO.
* Support the class teacher in meeting the needs of all children, including individuals and focus groups.
* Plan programmes of work for focus groups under guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
* Provide lunchtime supervision and contribute to a safe, positive lunchtime environment.
* Demonstrate motivation, enthusiasm, adaptability, initiative and teamwork with excellent communication skills.
Qualifications and requirements
* Holds a recognised NVQ Level 2 teaching assistant qualification (or equivalent) and has undertaken relevant training, or can demonstrate equivalent knowledge and experience.
* Good understanding of how children learn and develop; experience in a primary school is advantageous.
* Ability to work with individuals and small groups; capable of planning programmes of work for focus groups under direction.
* Experience of supporting SEND students is an advantage but not essential.
* Committed to safeguarding and welfare of children; willing to undergo pre-employment safeguarding checks as required.
