Self-employed Personal Assistant
Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: Little Downham, near Ely, Cambridgeshire
Working hours: Tuesday Friday 09:30 16:30
Pay: £15.35 per hour
Full bespoke training in the particular requirements will be provided.
A standard DBS certificate is required for this position.
About me:
"I am an ambitious, optimistic and very independent person who is looking for a Personal Assistant on a self-employed basis, to support and enable me to live my life in the best way possible. I am a qualified dog trainer, with two dogs of my own that are trained to assist me. I enjoy gardening, particularly growing my own food. I own a business and work in a flexible manner both in and outside my home.
I am a wheelchair user with a complex medical history, needing support to run my house/garden/life.
I am not looking for a carer or a nurse. I need a Personal Assistant to support me in achieving and fulfilling my ambitions. I know from experience that the partnership we will build is integral to my well-being, and therefore, we will need to work together to ensure the working relationship is based on the principle of enablement.
My ultimate Personal Assistant will:
* Be comfortable around animals I have 2 assistance dogs at home(Essential)
* Hold a clean UK Driving Licence and have access to your own vehicle. You may be requested to drive my vehicle from time to time. (Essential)
* Have a good sense of humour.
* Be motivated, enthusiastic and a good timekeeper
* Be comfortable with Information Technology, including online learning
* Be reliable, organised and able to produce and sustain excellent standards
* Be flexible and hardworking, understanding that the tasks you undertake will need to be completed to my satisfaction and standards, as you will be working in my home.
* Have great communication skills, fluent in English & a good listener
* Have a sense of pride in your work
* Be calm, patient and caring with a friendly demeanour
* Always understand the need for confidentiality
Duties would include:
* Household duties including vacuuming, dusting, washing floors, etc.
* Keeping my van and wheelchairs clean and tidy
* Preparing meals/food for the freezer
* Assisting me with things I am unable to do independently
* Any reasonable request for assistance
