The Role Wyre Forest District Council are looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Planning Policy Officer to support the formulation and implementation of policies and strategies related to planning for our District. As a Senior Planning Policy Officer, you will collaborate with a dedicated team of professionals, engage with stakeholders and utilise your expertise to lead on plan-making whilst also supporting the Development Management function. Wyre Forest District Council has an up-to-date Development Plan with a 5-year housing land supply but are commencing our Local Plan Review to meet the requirements of the new NPPF and housing numbers. To play a key role in all aspects of the preparation of the Local Plan, Neighbourhood Plans and matters relating to planning policy development To develop and support local communities within Wyre Forest to bring forward community led housing projects To maintain the Self and Custom Build Register and the Brownfield Land Register Maintain liaison between Planning and Housing teams Undertake research, studies and surveys into specific planning and housing issues and problems To give evidence on behalf of the Council at public inquiries and informal hearings when necessary Undertake the examination of plans and similar planning policy documents published by other authorities under Duty to Cooperate (or any replacement) requirements To be educated to degree level in a relevant subject and have three years experience in a relevant field Must have a full UK driving license and access to a suitable vehicle for this post The post is open to hybrid working Flexible approach to working hours, able to work outside normal office hours if necessary, including a requirement to be available for evening meetings.
