You will join our Building Structures team
As our new Senior/Principal Structural Engineer, you will be part of our central Cambridge office working on a range of exciting local landmarks as well as national and international projects, particularly in the fields of Science, Healthcare and Timber projects. We have won many awards for our work, regularly support research and have a very collaborative culture. We operate a fun and inquisitive office environment and actively encourage design flair and innovative solutions.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will involve:
1. Develop and agree structural concepts and design philosophies
2. Inspire and enthuse the engineers and technicians on your projects
3. Liaise with clients and collaborators, representing Ramboll at project meetings
4. Take ownership as day-to-day lead on a project or part of a project
5. Push the boundaries of low-carbon design
Your key deliverables over the first 12 months will be:
6. Grow and maintain a network of contacts and be a great ambassador for Ramboll
7. Lead the design process for a project (size suitable for level of experience)
8. Outside day-to-day project work, collaborate with colleagues from the Cambridge team and beyond to support implementation of various aspects of the Ramboll Business Plan

For this role, we believe your starting point is:
9. Chartered with the IStructE, ICE, or international equivalent
10. An excellent communicator capable of explaining complex engineering principles in plain language, verbally, in writing, and through sketching
11. A track record of working on projects with high levels of design, sustainability, or re-use of existing assets
12. Experience in the design of primary construction materials (steel, concrete, timber) and a good general knowledge of building construction; experience of MMC would be beneficial.
13. A passion for sustainable solutions
14. A multidisciplinary mindset and an aptitude for learning about the wider aspects of building design
