Key Responsibilities Chairing Child Protection Conferences: Lead effective, inclusive, and outcome-focused conferences that centre children's safety and well-being. Plan Development: Ensure the creation of SMART, multi-agency protection plans that clearly outline actions and responsibilities. Review & Quality Assurance: Monitor the implementation and impact of protection plans, challenging any drift or delay. Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with social workers, health and education professionals, and other stakeholders to coordinate safeguarding responses. Training & Guidance: Provide consultation and training to professionals on child protection procedures and safeguarding best practice. LADO Support: Provide cover for the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO), including chairing complex meetings regarding allegations against professionals. Practice Leadership: Promote a strengths-based, restorative approach in all safeguarding work. Essential Requirements Qualified Social Worker (BA/MA Social Work, DipSW or equivalent). Registered with Social Work England. Extensive experience in child protection, including chairing complex multi-agency meetings.
