We are looking for an enthusiastic sonographer to join our small, forward-thinking, friendly Ultrasound department at James Paget University Hospital.
Applicants must possess a Postgraduate Certificate or Diploma in Ultrasound (or equivalent qualification) and be registered with the HCPC or other relevant professional body. Recent NHS experience is required, and all applicants must meet the role's requirements. The role is open to UK residents only.
Sessions for general medical, gynaecological, musculoskeletal, and obstetric examinations are available depending on expertise and experience.
Our department offers an active training programme involving all staff, with BMUS endorsement for its preceptorship programme. We have strong support from Radiology colleagues and provide CPD activities.
The Trust opened its Community Diagnostic Centre in 2024, offering a 7-day, 8am - 8pm service to the local population. We are working towards providing this service, with additional out-of-hours sessions available.
Main duties include:
1. Undertaking clinical commitments following departmental protocols and scanning guidelines to provide a patient-focused service.
2. Ensuring high standards within available resources.
3. Collaborating with other professionals to maintain service quality.
4. Participating in non-clinical aspects of service provision.
5. Working closely with relevant Directorates.
