We are recruiting Full-Time Cover Supervisors to join secondary schools in Kettering from February 2026. These positions are temporary with potential to become permanent, offering the chance to gain valuable experience, support students' learning, and establish yourself within a supportive school community.
Role Overview:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will oversee classes in the absence of the teacher, ensuring students remain on task and engaged with pre-prepared lessons and resources. You will provide essential support across different subjects and become a trusted member of the school team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise classes across KS3 and KS4, maintaining high standards of behaviour
2. Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans, ensuring students understand instructions and complete tasks
3. Support student learning where appropriate, fostering a positive and productive classroom environment
4. Report any issues, concerns, or achievements to teaching staff promptly
5. Assist with school routines, including break supervision, corridor duties, and other tasks as required
6. Be a reliable, consistent presence in the school
Ideal Candidate:
7. Experience working with young people, ideally in schools, tutoring, or youth settings
8. Confident in managing behaviour calmly and respectfully
9. Able to follow lesson plans and give clear instructions
10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
11. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
12. Flexible and adaptable, comfortable supporting different subjects and classrooms
