Crown Oil Environmental is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Fuel Tank System Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team.
This role will primarily involve working on customers' premises, although there will also be a requirement to work on Crown Group's Estates. In this position, you will focus on the electrical aspects of fuel storage and delivery systems, ensuring their safe and efficient operation. You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining the electrical systems within fuel tanks and their associated infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct site visits alongside engineers with diverse skills in fuel-related engineering.
* Design and modify electrical schematics and systems for fuel tanks, ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards.
* Select appropriate electrical components such as sensors, wiring, and control systems for fuel tank applications.
* Integrate electrical systems with other fuel system components, including pumps, valves, and monitoring systems.
* Perform testing and validation to verify the functionality and safety of electrical systems in fuel tanks.
* Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues in fuel tank systems to minimise downtime.
* Ensure all electrical systems comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
Working Conditions:
* Basic hours of 50 per week, generally Monday to Friday. We endeavour to keep work local on a Friday to facilitate a timely finish for the weekend, where possible.
* 25 days of paid holiday per year, plus Bank Holidays.
* Company van provided with the option to opt into personal use and personal fuel (this will be taxed appropriately).
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
* Must hold BS 7671 IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition) with excellent knowledge and compliance.
* Strong understanding of health and safety procedures, with the ability to consistently apply safety practices and protocols.
* Proficient in understanding, interpreting, and complying with Risk Assessment & Method Statements (RAMS), with experience conducting dynamic RAMS on-site.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team and willingness to travel away from home as necessary.
* Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
* Dependable and reliable
Preferred Qualifications: (not essential but desirable)
* SPA (Safety Pass Alliance) certification.
* CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card.
* Experience working at heights and in confined spaces with high-risk training.
* Asbestos awareness and general mechanical aptitude with understanding of mechanical systems.
* Experience with forecourt/fuel systems and relevant certifications like SSSTS or CITB.
* CompEx certification (Competency in Explosive Atmospheres).
