Role: Manufacturing Engineer

We are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer to support the production of an extended run of prototype power systems. This role will act as a subject matter expert across manufacturing engineering and quality disciplines, ensuring robust processes, safe production environments and the successful delivery of prototype and low-volume builds. The position is based full time at our Banbury facility.
Role & Responsibilities
* Support Engineering and Manufacturing teams in the planning and management of all prototype builds, ensuring all processes, tooling, equipment and facilities are prepared and validated.
* Set up low‑volume production environments and develop manufacturing processes that ensure safety, quality, schedule adherence and cost control while maintaining industry best practice.
* Support the implementation and delivery of Advanced Product Quality Plans (APQP) for new product introduction.
* Provide day‑to‑day manufacturing engineering support to Production, Procurement and Programmes Teams, including championing controlled and robust change management.
* Participate in virtual build events for future products, ensuring lessons learned from pilot builds are fed back into manufacturing processes and designs.
* Contribute to the release and review of engineering drawings and CAD data.
* Map manufacturing processes and apply techniques such as PFMEAs and Control Plans where required.
* Produce and maintain SOPs, build records, routings and other production documentation.
* Own relevant elements of the quality improvement roadmap, supporting the Quality Management System, ISO9001:2015 compliance, and project‑specific requirements.
* Support the Quality Team through the development and application of quality tools and techniques.
Qualifications & Experience
* Minimum 2 years’ experience within a mid‑ or high‑volume manufacturing or production assembly environment.
* Qualified to Hazardous Voltage Level 4 and experienced in hands‑on work with high‑voltage systems.
* Confident presenting manufacturing engineering topics to senior leadership.
* Strong understanding of manufacturing engineering best practice, with the ability to create and implement structured systems and processes.
* Experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) and APQP methodologies.
* Advanced knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter, MPP, NX, and NoMuda Visual Factory (preferred).
* Practical experience with continuous improvement tools and methodologies (5S, Lean, Kaizen, PFMEA, Control Plans).
* A proactive team player with the ability to work independently and influence others with a positive “can‑do” approach.
* Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work at pace across multiple projects
