About the Trust
The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services. The Trust’s services at Mount Vernon Hospital include routine day surgery, delivered at a modern treatment centre, a minor injuries unit and outpatient clinics. The safety and well-being of our patients and staff is paramount. We are improving infection prevention and control, working in partnership with local GPs, charities, community services, academic partners, our local authority, neighbouring hospitals and the wider North West London Integrated Care System. The hospital is focused on providing high‑quality, safe and compassionate care and is building a new Hillingdon Hospital.
The Hillingdon Hospital is situated in Uxbridge in the south of the London Borough of Hillingdon. It has over 400 beds to cater to the health needs of a population of 280,000. The A&E Department handles approximately 80,000 attendances a year and the hospital has been awarded major hospital status, including Level II trauma provision. The A&E Department is undergoing further development following a redevelopment programme, which included a new observation and assessment ward. There are 7 operating theatres and a critical care facility adjacent to theatres with 9 ITU beds. The hospital has a Day Care Unit comprising 23 beds. The Division of Support Services offers excellent diagnostic facilities in pathology, radiology (CT scanning, MRI scanning, nuclear medicine and SPEC CT) and medical physics.
The Trust has a board of directors, including 5 non‑executive directors, who are responsible for business planning. They are committed to providing the greatest range of services possible, at high quality.
