Job Description
The Head of Audit & Compliance will be tasked with;
3. Develop and deliver strategic, risk based audit plans targeting high risk areas
4. Conduct internal audits and projects, providing actionable recommendations in clear reports
5. Present audit outcomes and insights to the Executive Board and Audit Committees
6. Delivering clear, data led insights that enable the executive team to make confident, high value and strategic business decisions
7. Build and lead a high performing audit team, promoting professional development
8. Maintain relationships with regulators, external auditors, and internal stakeholders
9. Monitor legislative and regulatory changes, ensuring timely integration into audit practices
10. Support implementation and optimisation of audit related systems
11. Deliver training or workshops on audit and compliance topics as required
The Successful Applicant
A successful Head of Audit & Compliance should have:
12. Professional audit qualification (e.g., IIA, ACA, ACCA)
13. Internal Audit experience
14. Expertise in risk based auditing, internal control frameworks, and regulatory compliance
15. Working knowledge of GIAS 2024, UK Corporate Governance Code 2024, ECCTA 2023, UK Bribery Act 2010
16. Minimum 5 years' audit experience, ideally in enforcement or other highly regulated environments
17. Proven experience leading audit teams and delivering strategic audit programs
18. Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills
19. High integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
