Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Safety, Compliance and Communications Assistant to support the effective implementation of health, safety, environmental, and quality management systems across all TSG divisions. Reporting to the Head of Health and Safety, you will play a key role in ensuring ongoing compliance with ISO 45001 (Health & Safety), ISO 9001 (Quality), and ISO 14001 (Environmental), while contributing to TSG’s social value and digital engagement efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

Health, Safety & Compliance

- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of internal and external audits, supporting audit readiness and follow-up actions.

-Maintain and update documentation for ISO management systems, ensuring compliance with good documentation practices and promoting continual improvement.

- Participate in the development and review of Integrated Management System (IMS) documentation including:

- Aspects and impacts assessments;

- Objectives, targets, and legal compliance registers.

- Risks and Opportunity Registers

- Contribute to the writing and reviewing of RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) and Construction Phase Plans to support safe project execution.

- Assist in incident and accident investigations, ensuring detailed reports are prepared and corrective/preventive measures are implemented.

- Keep accurate records of safety inspections, near-misses, PPE use, fire drills, workstation assessments, and training.

- Update and maintain H&S-related content on the company Intranet and noticeboards, including toolbox talks, safety alerts, and emergency procedures.

- Coordinate and participate in health and safety training sessions, taking minutes and tracking attendance.

- Support the delivery of new starter inductions, emphasising H&S responsibilities, emergency procedures, and compliance standards.

- Perform regular site and office walkarounds, reporting hazards and supporting local teams with improvements.

- Assist in managing waste transfer compliance and promote environmental best practices in line with ISO 14001.

- Liaise with all departments to identify H&S challenges, promote awareness, and implement practical solutions across the business.

Social Value & Media:

- Assist in developing and scheduling engaging content for social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, website), in line with company branding and communication goals.

- Create and edit written, photographic, and video content to showcase company initiatives, projects, community engagement, and health & safety achievements.

- Manage and update internal and external communication platforms including the company Intranet, social media accounts, and Google Business pages.

- Monitor social media performance (e.g., engagement, reach, follower growth), and prepare regular reports to inform strategy and decision-making.

- Respond to comments, messages, and reviews, enhancing TSG’s online reputation and community interaction.

- Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate timely posts, including project updates, events, awards, CSR activities, and employee highlights.

- Support initiatives that enhance community engagement, workforce development, local employment, and environmental sustainability.

- Promote social value reporting by capturing impact metrics and helping draft content that reflects TSG’s values and social contributions.

- Assist with the planning and promotion of corporate social responsibility events, charity drives, volunteering days, and environmental campaigns.

Accountabilities:

- Support the development of a safe, compliant, and continuously improving workplace.

- Keep detailed, accurate, and auditable records of health and safety activities.

- Help drive performance through effective monitoring, reporting, and collaboration across all TSG divisions.

- Champion awareness and engagement with health, safety, and social value initiatives across the organisation.

Attributes & Skills:

- Strong organisational and prioritization skills with attention to detail.

- Confident communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally and build strong relationships.

- Creative and adaptable, with a passion for problem-solving and continuous improvement.

- Comfortable managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

- Familiarity with H&S and environmental regulations, ISO standards, and data analysis tools.

- Competent in Microsoft Office and social media platforms.

Requirements:

- Previous experience in a health & safety, compliance, auditing, or social media role.

- Basic knowledge of relevant legislation and management systems (ISO 45001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001).

- Strong communication, report writing, and digital content creation skills.

- Ability to assist in risk assessments and develop safety documentation.

- Proficiency in English and a proactive, can-do attitude
