We are a growing consultancy based in central Hertfordshire, seeking the right candidate to support the Managing Director in running the entire operation.
This key role reports directly to the Managing Director and plays a critical role in supporting business as usual operations, as well as special projects and strategic decision-making.
The successful candidate will work closely with the MD and possess wide-ranging operational experience, strong commercial acumen, and problem-solving capabilities.
Key responsibilities:
Strategy
* Supporting the MD, acting as a sounding board for future strategy and requirements
Staff
* Managing and supporting staff, holding them accountable
* Ensuring they deliver their objectives and meet corporate priorities
* Conducting personnel reviews and restructuring conversations and implementations
Skills
* Identifying required skill sets for the business and recruiting accordingly
* Ensuring proper planning and execution of inductions
MI and Data
* Analyzing data and scenario planning
* Delivering timely and audience-appropriate financial and business information to support decision-making (including meeting prep, MI, personnel data)
Systems and Processes
* Ensuring systems are optimized, up-to-date, and compliant
Technology
* Identifying opportunities for new technology to improve efficiency and reduce overhead
* Embracing AI and developing efficiency opportunities
* Ensuring effective technological interface with the office (including diary management)
Communications
* Writing and delivering presentations and collateral
* Keeping staff informed of key information
* Interfacing with key stakeholders
Business Opportunities
* Identifying, assessing, and supporting business opportunities inside and outside the core business
* Conducting due diligence (e.g., Portugal)
Finance
* Overseeing cash flow and liaising with the accountant
* Tracking adviser remuneration for projects via client conversions
* Understanding money flows and FUM
Compliance
* Managing compliance issues, including backlog in GMT
* Ensuring timely FCA returns
