Our client is a well-established, independent consultancy based in Leeds, providing Quantity Surveying, Employer’s Agent, and Project Management services to both public and private sector clients across the UK. The Opportunity
Due to continued growth, our client is looking to appoint both a Cost Manager and a Senior Cost Manager to join their team in their new Leeds office. These are full-time, office-based roles with a broad scope of responsibility, offering the chance to work closely with clients and contractors across diverse projects.
Key responsibilities will vary depending on experience, but may include:
* Preparing feasibility and detailed cost estimates
* Supporting or leading on procurement, tendering and contract negotiations
* Administering building contracts and managing change control processes
* Reviewing and agreeing interim valuations and final accounts
* Producing accurate cost reports and financial forecasts
* Advising clients on cost and commercial strategy
* Leading client and contractor meetings (Senior level)
* Mentoring junior team members (Senior level)
Candidate Profile
Applicants should have:
* A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or similar
* Proven experience in a cost consultancy or commercial management role
* A solid understanding of building contracts and post-contract processes
* Strong analytical, commercial, and communication skills
* Experience of cost planning, reporting, and contract administration
* Membership or working towards membership of a professional body such as RICS
* Senior applicants should also demonstrate experience in client leadership and team coordination
