Overview
EQUANS are looking for a Resident Electrician to join our team in Salford for the Media City contract. This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
Responsibilities
* Provide all-round engineering support, maintaining the building infrastructure. Have a detailed understanding of all new or current Building Services systems and contingency procedures, complying with Health & Safety/building codes of practice.
* Act as a coordination point for day-to-day on-site activities between the on-site team and the FM management team.
* Ensure all activities allocated to the shift are undertaken with professional quality, health & safety awareness, and 100% uptime criteria.
* Deliver timely response to plant failures, complete assigned work, and manage abnormal operating conditions and housekeeping issues.
* Capable of running operations on duty, including during night shifts and supervising subcontractors.
* Report any difficulties encountered on engineering activities to the Engineering Supervisor/Manager.
* Maintain complete daily record-keeping and understand escalation procedures.
* Participate in out-of-hours call-out and overtime for on-site works and site cover.
* Read, write, and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements; carry out Point of Work risk assessments.
* Manage subcontractors and ensure PPE, uniforms, and tools are provided as required.
* Work with continental shift pattern: 12 hours on site, 1 hour lunch, 4 days on, 4 nights on a rotating schedule.
Principal Objectives
* Carry out PPM tasks and record/complete related documents.
* Carry out reactive callouts on critical systems.
* Complete compliance testing and minor works to JSP375 standard.
* Perform minor installation works and testing.
* Communicate the company vision and objectives and implement new procedures.
* Promote and drive the company values.
* Keep up to date with industry developments, driving innovation and effective change.
Impact
This role will be client-facing; the candidate should have strong communication skills to ensure operational and contractual obligations are met and risk to EQUANS is mitigated.
Complexity
We are looking for a confident, experienced and driven individual with a strong background, good planning, and organizational skills.
Qualifications or Required Experience
* City and Guilds training
* Strong communication skills
* Good experience of electrical maintenance and repairs
* Previous AP/AE experience and qualifications preferred but not essential
