Location: Glasgow (Govan and Scotstoun) - Must be able to attend a recruitment day in Glasgow.
Salary: £38,662.00 (with an additional shift allowance of 33% potentially applicable).
Your Role Awaits!
As an Electrician at BAE Systems, you will be at the heart of our mission to design and build world-leading naval ships. Your expertise will contribute to the security and defense of nations around the globe. Here’s what you’ll be doing:
* Install a variety of cables (multi-core, single core, co-axial) and electrical systems (junction boxes, fuse panels, consoles, transformers, switches, etc.).
* Perform cable termination and installation of all electrical equipment.
* Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
* Collaborate with shipbuilding teams to ensure timely and efficient completion of electrical installations.
* Ensure all work complies with safety and quality standards.
What We’re Looking For:
To thrive in this role, you should have:
* A Modern Apprenticeship SVQ 3 or equivalent.
* Relevant experience in a marine installation or major industrial installation environment.
* Understanding of assessments, Risk, PUWER & COSHH.
* Familiarity with relevant trade drawings.
* Knowledge of the tag-out process and correct proving dead procedures.
* Experience in mounting electrical equipment & components.
* Skills in earthing equipment and terminating cables to industry standards.
