Our projects are at early development stage so you will becollaborating with teamsfrominitialland deals (purchase and lease),all the waythrough to ready to buildand beyond, including project transactions.

The Role
TheHead of Legal positionis a very varied role. You willsupportvarious teams acrossNatPower,working closely withourDevelopmentDirectorand CEO. Thewiderteam ismanagingthedevelopment of renewablegenerationand BESSprojects across theUKandthis rolewill be directlyassistingthedevelopment activities of the projectsall the way through to project transactions. There will also be input into corporate finance, land acquisition, third party contracts and general businesslegals.
The Successful Applicant
We are looking foracandidate withthe ability to apply legalexpertiseacross a wide range.
* Functional experience. You will be qualified to practice law in the UK. You will have post-qualification experience having in-house experience to a senior level with a sizeable company in the renewable energy, energy transition sector (or related area) or in the renewables team of a large law firm.
* Financing experience. You will have recent experience in project financing renewable power assets in the UK renewable, power (or related) market.
* Commercial acumen. You will have well-developed commercial awareness with an outcome-orientated and solution-based approach, able to apply legal principles pragmatically.
Job Activities Description
As the Head of Legal, you will play a critical role in providing expert legal advice and support to the company's renewable energy and infrastructure projects. You willbe responsible for managing a broad range of legal matters, including project agreements, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and commercial contracts. Your extensive legal knowledge, strategic thinking, and strong negotiation skills will contribute to the success of the company's initiatives and help drive the renewable energy transition.
Some of these activities are performed coordinating the work of externallegal firms andinternal team members.
* You will work closely with the project development senior leadershipteam to p rovide expert legal advice and guidance to support the development, acquisition,transactionand operation of renewable energy and infrastructureprojects
* Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements,including:project development agreements; financing agreements; non-disclosure agreements;land purchase contracts and leases;power purchase agreements/corporate power purchase agreements;engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) agreements;tender documentation; procurement contracts; service level agreements; warranty documents and performance guarantees.
* Provide legal support onfinancing of projectsand corporate financefacilities
* Manage legal due diligence processes for project transactions, including assessing legal risks and providing recommendations to seniormanagement
* You will provide training and guidance to colleagues on legal developments and best practices relevant to renewable energy projectdevelopment
* Build andmaintainstrong relationships with external legal advisors, regulators, and other stakeholders to ensure the company's interests areprotected
* You will manage all Corporate legal matters across the business, including HR, H&S, office lease contracts, service contracts, compliance etc.
* Support corporate governance matters, including board meetings, shareholder agreements, and company secretarialresponsibilities
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including project development, finance, and operations teams, toidentifylegal issues, mitigate risks, and support businessobjectives
* You willestablisha budget for the legal function and drive value formoney
* You willmonitorchanges in relevant legislation and regulatory environments, assessing the impact on the business and takingappropriate actionand e nsure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industrystandards
